This is a really great tour - you'll learn not only the layout of the city and the history of why it's been done that way, but also get to see all the big monuments and best architecture. I would really recommend this tour if you have family or friends visiting. You'll learn so much about the city, and your guests will feel like they actually know the city. I recommend this product. UBT Escalada is located in Clube da Vizinhança Norte, SGAN 604 – Asa Norte. The facilities are pretty impressive with all levels of climbing difficulties and they are by far the best indoor climbing center in Brasilia. Introduction courses are offered that last for about 1 hour and 30 minutes and the cost is only 50 reais. And if you decide this sport is for you this cost will be deducted from the registration fee. All the gear you need is provided and all instructors are certified. And some of the instructors speak very good English. For the kids they provide special classes and during the holidays they run holiday climbing camps. If you are an experienced climber the climbing walls will be a challenge for you. There is also a pro-shop where you can get some pretty good stuff. Beside the climbing they offer classes in air acrobatics as well as a circus school. He is a physiotherapist and also an osteopath who studied abroad and is absolutely meticulous. What makes him different, in my experience, is that he tries to understand the issue you go to him with deeply and then tries to deliver the most effective solution, rather than just signing you up for sessions which would pay him more. He believes that understanding how the patient’s brain reacts to the situation and help them work on dealing with the brain’s reaction is complementary to what he can do physically with the patient. Sometimes a session may last 90 mins or more because he tries his very best to help, rather than just telling you to come back in a few days and pay again. He is also available via WhatsApp and provides support beyond the office. Once, I went to him with a painful shoulder issue on Monday evening, thinking there was no chance I could play tennis on Wednesday morning. 90 mins after I entered his office, the shoulder felt 70% better, By the end of Tuesday, I was pain-free. On Wednesday morning I was serving without any problem. Dr. Juscelino speaks English, and I highly recommend his work. Taxis Taxis are pretty expensive here and, if you are a gringo and don’t know your way around, even more so. The trip from the airport to your hotel will take ages and resembles more a city tour. The taxis are generally clean but do not expect the drivers to speak any English. The price of the ride is displayed in front so you can see it. When in the taxi it is important to check the meter. It has 2 rates depending on the time: “Bandeira 1” = the day rate between 6 am and 8 pm. “Bandeira 2” = the night rate between 8 pm and 6 am, which is approximately 20% higher). Never take a ride in a taxi that doesn’t display the price, or the driver says that it doesn’t work. Uber or 99 Uber or 99 (another local ride-share) is the way to go if you do not have your own transportation. They are plentiful, the drivers are very friendly, the cars are clean, and they are cheap. And because you can follow the route on your own phone you can check if they go the most direct way. Many of the Uber drivers speak some English and, if they hear you are a gringo, are eager to speak with you. If they talk to you, just have a chat with them; you will make their day. It is located at the beginning of Lago Norte and home to some of the poshest shops in the city. Here you find shops like Ralph Lauren Polo, Bvlgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Lacoste and many more. You will also find one of the most modern cinemas in the complex. Beside the many fashion shops, you will also find stores that cater for home decors, furniture, toy stores as well as a very good tea store and OBA Hortifruti, a very good supermarket. The food court is relatively small with only a handful of options, but you find some well known restaurants on the bottom floor like Coco Bambu, Outback Steakhouse and Pobre Juan. One of the pleasant things on Iguatemi Shopping is that it is an expensive place, therefore it is never really busy. In the center of the center there are often activities for children. Relocating Dogs & Cats to the UK & EU Document Document Document Document Brazil-wide $$$$ By Appointment Portuguese, English Animal Relocation Information < Search All Button This information was supplied by Rebecca Allen and we publish this here with her permission. “This is aimed at cats and dogs owners: I wanted to bring to attention something I am working through at the moment with my pet cat: vaccinations and blood work to get the green light to take your pet to the UK and EU is TIME CONSUMING. Please ensure you leave enough time (upwards of 5 months!) to ensure your pet will be authorized for travel. They require a blood test taken 30 days after a rabies vaccination (and micro chipping prior to this) and this must come back with enough antibodies to then qualify for the 3 month ‘quarantine’ period before the pet can enter the UK or EU. If there are not enough antibodies you have to wait longer and retest before starting the quarantine. You can have the vaccine and blood test at anytime - better to do it as soon as you arrive/adopt a pet. So long as you keep the vaccine certification up to date, the blood test will never expire, and you will be able to arrange exporting your pet much more simply. I learn the hard way, as due to Covid, I let the rabies vaccine lapse last year and now I am going through the process from scratch. My kitty will have to follow us on to the UK (luckily, we have friends to house him temporarily), but I just wanted to share this information to help anyone in a similar situation or just to highlight to newcomers, that this is something that can be underway from the very start and prevent issues in those final ‘packing up’ months.
