To call an ambulance in Brazil, the number is 192. This will put you through to SAMU (Serviço de Atendimento Móvel de Urgência).
This is the public ambulance service and the quality of the vehicles and equipment varies, also they will transport you to a public hospital, which in Brasilia is likely to be overcrowded.
This service is free of charge but can sometimes be slow and unreliable. If you have an overseas medical insurance or a local one it is advised to find the emergency number of a private hospital in Brasilia and keep it with you. In general, there are ambulance and emergency services that are much more efficient and reliable.
